Do You Want to Follow Him

April 14-20

Simon Peter asked him, 'Lord, where are you going?' Jesus replied, 'Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.' John 13:36

Devotional: It’s amazing how things have changed since I was a child many years ago! There was a time in which we, as children, participated in all sorts of activities outside. One of the games we played as kids was “Follow the Leader.” Usually, it was the older kid in the neighborhood who had experience that would be the leader and he would take us in the woods, and we would be right behind him. On some occasions however, he would run, and we could not keep up with him and we found ourselves lost and frightened until a few moments later, he would show back up and then we would be happy and relieved. Jesus desires us to follow him even though we may feel all alone, His presence is with us because He lives inside of us!

Prayer: Father, I know you are an awesome God who is always with us in all circumstances. We love you and we give you glory, we give honor, we give praise! Thank you for your guidance and direction and allow us to recognize that we cannot do anything without your presence, in the strong and perfect name of Jesus Christ, our rock we pray, Amen!
