Diamonds in the Rough seeks to empower young ladies to live out their God-given purpose, make a difference in society, and live a life that brings glory and honor to God

Leadership & Mentoring Program Overview

Diamonds in the Rough (DITR) creates a supportive environment where young ladies can make connections that foster their strengths and support them through challenges.

Mentee Application and Selection

Diamonds in the Rough (DITR) facilitates two program sessions each year – Spring and Fall.  Special events and engagements are held in the Summer.

DITR hosts designated times for application and selection, which are at the beginning of each program session – January and August.

A limited number of young ladies are invited to participate as Mentees each program season.

Prospective Mentees submit their application through The Church Without Walls website.  Applicants are invited to participate in a screening process, after which, successful candidates are selected to join the DITR Leadership & Mentoring Program.

Meeting Frequency

Each group mentoring session lasts for 6 weeks. The study and application portion of DITR incorporates a face-to-face meeting, which is held weekly. Special engagements are held in the Summer.

The actual meeting times are based on the TCWW Campus worship times. Occasionally, a special event/program is incorporated in which the date/time/location will be announced in advance.

Mentee/Mentor Matching

Mentees and Mentors are matched based on shared interests and personality traits. In addition to being matched with a Mentor, Mentees connect to a small peer group. This structure allows the young ladies to form relationships with and learn from both their Mentor and their peers.

Mentor Recruitment

A Mentor in the Diamonds in the Rough Leadership & Mentoring Program has the opportunity to address a real need within our community.

Adolescence is a particularly important time of a girl’s life as she begins to develop.  This time of maturity, growth, and change can be significantly impacted by the dedication and guidance of a mentor.

Every girl should believe in herself and realize she matters.  Mentoring can be a valuable means of providing support and reinforcing the belief that we are all special and important.

As a Mentor, you will have the unique opportunity to build a caring, respectful relationship with a Mentee while supporting them to develop in positive ways through activities and interactions that are mutually enjoyable, meaningful, challenging, and success-oriented. As a DITR Mentor, you will have an opportunity to expand your skills such as:

  • Pour into the life of a young lady
  • Gain/enhance the experience in mentoring
  • Broaden leadership capacities
  • Sharpen facilitation/organizational skills
  • Explore new skills development
  • Deepen your personal Christian journey
  • Seize meaningful volunteer experiences to reference
  • Increase connections and expand community networks

Mentors are required to complete the Mentor Training Program and adhere to The Church Without Walls requirements.
