The Big Return to In-Person Worship

In Preparation for the Big Return in September, we want to pray together each week as a congregation; please make sure to check back here weekly for the devotionals beginning Sunday, August 1st.

September 5-11

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28 (NIV)

Devotional

Sovereign LORD, Eternal God, How Great Thou Art! From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same – You are Worthy to be Praised!  Thank you for loving and teaching us through constant encouragement, and regardless of our circumstances, that you continue to use all situations in working everything out according to your Sovereign will. Thank you for your promises, and reminding us, “That He who began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  We lift our voices in Exaltation and Worship LORD, for who You are and all that You do – while drawing us closer to you. Thank you for Pastor West and the vision poured into his spirit, and aligning our hearts with this vision as we glorify you. We pray for wisdom and discernment for our Pastor as he continues preaching Your uncompromising Word, bringing others to Christ. We pray for adherence LORD to all safety measures to facilitate return to corporate Worship; and although as a Church Family we have endured many challenges, we know we are being perfected in holiness for Christ’s return. We are grateful Lord Jesus for your mercy and grace, as you daily remind us of our Everlasting Hope in Jesus Christ. Help us Holy Spirit to walk not after the flesh but after Godly obedience and holiness, for the sufferings we experience are not worthy for comparison to the glory which shall be revealed. Help us not to be weary in well doing, but steadfast and faithful to the end. Amen.

September 12-18

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.”  Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7

Devotional

Sovereign God of heaven and earth, we honor You and bless Your Holy Name.   We are the people of Your pasture, the flock under Your care. Let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our God. Our praise and worship belongs to You alone. We cry out to You our precious God, our Creator, Sustainer, Comforter, and Healer. You know our desire our need to return to Your house of prayer where we can once again sing Zion’s songs of joy, where we can shout aloud with thanksgiving and extol You for Your goodness, and greatness.  We ask O God that You will prepare our hearts and minds with steadfast determination to once again enter into Your gates with thanksgiving and into Your courts with high praise. We employ Your healing mercies for those who are in need of healing in their mind and bodies, their finances, their relationships and families. We believe that You are Sovereign, and You reign over all the Universe. You know the day and the hour that we can return safely to the Cathedral You built for The Church Without Walls. So, until that day and that hour help us to remain faithful to bringing Your house into our house; and to remain faithful to our creed for giving – “Where there is a temple, there is a need.  Where there is a need, there is provision. Where there is provision, there is God. And where there is God, He supplies in miraculous ways.” God loves a cheerful giver! We must continue to give our time, talent and treasure to the body of Christ. It is in the Name and through the power of Jesus we pray.  Amen.

September 19-25

“And let us consider together how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25

Devotional

Loving God, thank You for providing us with our house of prayer where we will come together again to praise and thank You for all that You have given us. Help us to go out into the world, refreshed by Your Holy Spirit, to do what you have called us to do in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Oh Lord, help us to enter Your gates with praise and to go from Your house of prayer to serve You in ministering and praying for the lost this day and all our days.  Most gracious and loving Father, we also come at this time to give You all the praise and glory and to thank You for loving us, saving us, and keeping us. We come asking that Your Holy Spirit will continue to guide us and strengthen our faithfulness to You and our commitment to our church.  Father, help us to become committed Disciples of Christ and become known by our positive impact in our communities through our love for each other and our obedience to Your Holy Word. We pray the anointing of the Holy Spirit fall fresh on us to revive us, refine us, and increase our spiritual level so we will experience more of Your grace and life peace especially during these times. We thank You for continuing to allow us to survive the pandemic and racial injustices; and we are rejoicing now as we look forward to the day that we are able to meet face-to-face.  For Hebrews 10 and 25 tells us, “…not to give up meeting together…” Father help us to be excited about meeting together and to become more faithful and committed to church attendance whether virtually or face-to-face, in JESUS Holy name. Amen.

September 26 - October 2

“Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The Lord has spoken!” Isaiah 40:3-5 NLT

Devotional

Father God, we are shouting; we are crying out to You from the wilderness – “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places.” We need the glory of Your will to be revealed for Your sanctuary our cathedral – The Church Without Walls! We pray believing that we shall see it together. We pray believing that You are speaking to us. Open our ears Lord that we will hear Your message to our hearts. We long to meet with You to pray, praise and worship in cooperate fellowship!  We pray believing that Your will – will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray believing that You are making the way straight through this wasteland, filling the valleys and leveling the mountains and hills, clearing our way back into Your house of prayer. Then Your glory will be revealed and all the people will see it together. Father we ask that You will strengthen our hearts and minds, make the curves straight and smooth out the rough places!  Guide us, O Thou great Jehovah, we are weak, but Thou art mighty, Hold us with Thy powerful hand. Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven, feed us till we want no more; We thank You and praise You Lord God – In Jesus’ Name we pray – Amen.

October 3-9

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” Psalms 100:4

Devotional

We give thanks to the Sovereign Lord our God as we prepare to re-enter our place of worship where His name has been praised by our congregation each and every Lord’s Day. We give thanks as we remember our journey through the pandemic in the past months. We thank You Father that although we have not been able to meet together in Your house, You have sustained us daily by Your power. You have provided for our families and for this we will continuously praise Your glorious Name. We have experienced many hardships, but You have remained faithful and have graciously blessed us. Bringing Your house to our house through technology has been our mode of praise and worship but we long to meet together in Your Cathedral. We especially give thanks and praise to God for our Pastor Ralph West, and staff for the great work they are doing to maintain the outreach of The Church Without Walls. We ask that You will continue to provide the stamina and strength they need as they continue to provide encouragement and information not only to our community but to the world. We anticipate our return to face to face fellowship and worship and we earnestly pray as the day approaches. Through it all we are learning to trust in Jesus we are learning to trust in God. In the Name of Jesus, we pray – Amen.
