Pastor West recently reminded us in a sermon, “Grace at Second Base” (1Corinthians 15:10), that God has given us his Amazing Grace. He challenged us to make a difference with the extra innings that God has given to us. He also said, as Christians, we are obligated to make the world a better place and eradicate evil. He noted anyone can complain, however, God has given us the gift of voting to exercise our voice. He went on to state “what is right doesn’t belong to a party, but to God’s people; we should see what is evil on every hand and say it has to go.”
So, let’s get Ready and Set to exercise our Voice because the time to prepare is NOW. See key voter information below.

Dear Mr. Caldwell,
I love Pastor West message in his “Grace at Second Base” sermon regarding our obligation as people of faith to vote. I just read an article in the Houston Chronicle about Governor Abbott only allowing one mail in voting drop off location per county. Harris County had planned to have 11 such locations. With Covid-19 seniors need safe mail in voting more than ever. I am worried that senior citizens will be afraid to rely on the USPS to deliver their mail in ballots on time and they will have difficulty delivering their mail in ballots to the one drop off location for Harris County. I don’t know whether this is feasible but is there a way that church vans could be used to take senior citizens in your congregations to the mail in voting drop off location. Many seniors lived through the fight for voting rights so anything your congregation can do would be very beneficial to them.
Kind Regards,
Angela Jones
