33 Days of Prayer

In celebration of our 33rd Pastoral and Church Anniversary, we will unite in prayer for 33 days beginning Tuesday, October 13th through Saturday, November 14th thanking God for Pas and our fellowship. Each day’s scripture and prayer focus will be posted below.

While in this season of prayer, please join us for a special election night virtual prayer service, Tuesday, November 3rd, 7pm.

DAY 29 – November 10th

God is Holy

And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.

Isaiah 6:3

Prayer: Almighty God, You alone are Holy.  You alone are Almighty.  You alone are Eternal.  You are Elohim—Creator God! How we exalt You and magnify Your name!  We give You all glory, honor, and praise.  In the matchless name of Jesus. Amen!

DAY 30 – November 11th

Strength in Brokenness

I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders.

Revelations 5:4-6

Prayer: Sovereign King, thank You for revealing to us that strength is found in brokenness.  When John was told that only the Lion of the tribe of Judah was found worthy to open the scrolls, he looked around, and instead of a lion, he saw a lamb that has been slain!  Remind us that ‘The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise’ (Ps 51:17). Continue to instill this truth in us until we abandon all desires driven by the pursuit of physical strength alone.  Glory and praise to You, Lord!  In Jesus’ name, we pray and give You thanks.  Amen!

DAY 31 – November 12th
A Worthy Sacrifice

But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them.

2 Samuel 24:24

Almighty Father, Most High God, You so loved the world that You gave Your only Son, Jesus Christ, as atonement for our sins. Such a selfless sacrifice should only be met with the fullest expression of a surrendered life. Enkindle in us a pure love through total surrender of our will and our ways to You, Lord. In the name that is above every name, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!

DAY 32 – November 13th

Earthen Vessels

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

2 Corinthians 4:7

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You have blessed us with talents and spiritual gifts, so that we may better serve You and others. Ground us in humility that we may keep the focus on You rather than in our own perceived ability and strength.  Scripture tells us that You ‘resist the proud but show favor to the humble (Js 4:6 NIV).  Clothe us with humility and remind us that You, O Lord, are the Source of the excellency in us.  In Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen!

DAY 33 – November 14th
The Great Commission

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:18-20

Prayer:  Gracious and Holy God, in Your parting words, You charged Your followers to continue the work You have begun.  Opportunities abound to act on this command, given the wide-ranging needs around us.  Give us the courage to not only share our faith, but also be willing to do the work that demonstrates faith right where You have planted us. As we go about making disciples of all nations, give us a tender heart for people of every nationality and race.  With reverence in our hearts, help us to willingly give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15 NIV).  We glorify Your name, LORD.  In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray.  Amen!
